| The Board of Christian Education is responsible for the programs, curriculum, and staff for all educational programs. In addition to the education program and activities, the Confirmation program, and leadership for the Youth Programs. The Sunday School has grown by leaps and bounds. Each class, from our nursery to our senior high, is staffed by trained, supportive Christians who have volunteered to lead our children and young people on their faith journey. Our curriculum is based on the Common Lectionary which means that most Sundays the Scripture heard in the Sanctuary is the basis for the lesson taught in each class. We find that family dinner discussions can be very rewarding when the whole family has studied the same scripture the same day. Sunday School for children ages 3 years to 13 years meets every Sunday from 10:15 to 11:15, with children leaving the sanctuary following the start of the 10:00 worship service. Children of all ages are invited to participate in theatrical productions held at the church. Godspell was the most recent production. There are also separate junior and senior high fellowship groups that meet several times a month. Fellowship activities are a balance of social events and opportunities to enhance understanding of Christian beliefs and ideals. Numerous trips and activities are planned for the youth fellowships each year. Please contact the church office for a calendar of upcoming events. Vacation Bible School, a highlight of the year for the children and staff alike, is held in July at the beginning of summer vacation. The adult education programs is currently being re-explored and we are asking for any suggestions and thoughts. The church offers an extensive library of fiction and non-fiction books and videos for study and spiritual growth at home. |
